Barron McCann was established as a Value Added Reseller, specialising in systems and service. This marked the beginning of our focus on delivering reliable technology solutions and long-term support for businesses.

The company expanded into technology manufacture, leading to products within the following sectors: Networking (MicroMite and CONICL), Healthcare (BARS Blood Audit Release System), Banking (BACS) and Encryption (Xkryptor). These devices were supported by a growing national Field Engineering team.

Alan Watson joins Barron McCann and leverages its field engineering expertise to provide Installation and break-fix maintenance services into the Retail Sector.

New Head Office in Derby purchased and entire service operation consolidated under one roof for the first time.

Public sector expansion cemented with the award of the mass staging and deployment of Laptops to be used for the national Census.

The company expands into Europe, with the first installation completed in Germany. This quickly grows into a full Pan-European Installation and Break-Fix Maintenance offering.

Barron McCann Technology (OE manufacture) is emerged from Barron McCann. Alan Watson becomes Managing Director of Barron McCann, who continue to specialise in installation and maintenance services, predominantly in the Retail sector.

Barron McCann are the first UK company to complete a P2PE rollout, deploying c.11,000 PEDs across the UK and EU on behalf of a multinational high street retailer.

Alan Watson completes MBO of Barron McCann and launches the wider Barron McCann Group. Alan commences new role as Group Executive Chairman.

Dedicated EU facility opened in Warsaw, Poland, with officing, staging, repair workshop and storage facilities. EU-only mass deployment of c.30,000 devices begins as EU customer base continues to grow.

Installed devices supported devices surpass 1,000,000.

Cable-Talk UK was acquired to strengthen Barron McCann’s structured data cabling capabilities, expanding our ability to deliver end-to-end infrastructure solutions at scale.

Retail Assist was acquired to strengthen Barron McCann’s managed services offering, enabling the delivery of fully integrated, end-to-end IT support solutions.

Barron McCann launches EV ChargePoint Installation and Maintenance service, aiming to be the first UK-wide provider of full End-to-End SLA driven ChargePoint services.

Scott and Craig Watson became majority shareholders of the Barron McCann Group, with Alan continuing as Group Executive Chairman. This ensured the business remained family-owned, building on over 50 years of success.
