If our deadline had been missed, it would have been impossible to trade in House of Fraser stores. Failure, just being a little late, wasn’t an option.

Launching a Multichannel Retail Business to a Fixed Deadline

When Mint Velvet launched in 2009, the business needed a complete retail technology infrastructure in place before its first trading day. All systems, infrastructure, communications and software had to be fully operational for a strict 1st October go-live, enabling the brand to operate across head office, warehousing, stores and concessions from day one.

Missing this deadline would have delayed the launch by several months and impacted the brand’s ability to trade with key retail partners, making the timeline critical for the new fashion retailer.

Building a Complete Retail Technology Platform

Barron McCann and Retail Assist designed and delivered a fully integrated retail technology platform to support Mint Velvet’s multichannel operations. At the centre of the solution was Merret, the retail ERP system used to manage merchandising, supply chain and warehousing.

The platform connected key business functions including head office systems, store POS, logistics operations and e-commerce, ensuring product, pricing and sales data could flow seamlessly across the business. Alongside the implementation, Barron McCann and Retail Assist also provided ongoing support services covering help desk support, application management, POS support and hardware maintenance.
